Doug's Indie Picks for November 2012

 - Vancouver, British Columbia - I think I'm running out of things to say in these introductions, but that's okay, I just like hearing myself talk... or seeing myself write. One of those. This month, my indie picks are quite diverse, both in musicality and in how much the music means to me. There are some I've had in my collection for a number of years and have come to cherish, a couple that I've had for a little while, and one that I literally just got a couple of weeks ago through chance. I want to take this opportunity to share these with you so you can find music that you'll love and be able to support some talented musicians while you're at it.

Doug's Indie Picks for September 2012

 - Vancouver, British Columbia - I actually seem to be keeping up with these indie pick reviews. I've enjoyed writing them so it seems to be in everyone's benefit. I hope that if you've been keeping up with these that you've been checking out some of the bands that have a sound that interests you. I know that some of the artists have appreciated the exposure that this has brought, even if it is just a little bit.

Doug's Indie Picks for July 2012

 - Vancouver, British Columbia - If you missed it last month, my indie picks for the month will be artists that are relatively unknown and promote their music independently, for the most part. I'm not here to cover mainstream acts, but just want to share some albums that you may not have heard of that I really enjoy. I got a fairly positive response from some of the artists last month and it always feels great to get even a little bit of feedback from them. That's one of the aspects of independent music that I like so much, especially in the age of the internet. I like that I can connect with artists to some extent and hopefully gain them a few new fans.

Doug's Indie Picks of June 2012

 - Vancouver, British Columbia - I listen to a lot of music, not going to lie. Since discovering websites like CD Baby and Bandcamp, I find a lot of music that I really enjoy and can barely keep up with listening to it all, never mind reviewing it. So, I decided that I would release a series of shorter music reviews every month to tell you about music that I’ve come to like, but don’t necessarily have a whole review's worth of things to say about it. Plus, I can share more music with my readers than if I just released a single review once every week or two. Not all of the albums I plan on talking about are brand new, but I do want these to be mainly independent releases and ones that I enjoy. Why bother bring up a crappy band that no one has heard of only to tell you not to bother to listen to it? This should be an opportunity for me to share a diverse collection of bands that I've come to enjoy to some extent or another.
