Rioting: Because We Are Your Children

- Vancouver, British Columbia - In the days that followed the rioting and looting in both Vancouver and London this year, we heard near universal condemnation on the part of politicians, and for good reason; smashing and looting things is not high on my moral compass. I don't believe that breaking public property or taking advantage of high-end electronics stores with no security is acceptable behaviour, regardless of the cause. I can understand that rage propels us to do unpredictable things, but the riots in Vancouver were certainly not guided by a personal rage. Instead, in the faces of the rioters, it looked more like they were enjoying the moment, and relishing the chance to smash some stuff. And why not take a free jar of Pringles why you're at it?
